Shikoku Champion - Nero

This is my Shikoku league Champion. I have to say he was the hardest of all my characters to design. Everything about drawing him was hard, his colors, his design, his outfit, his hair... all of it. But I'm happy with how he turned out.

Nero is the reigning Shikoku Pokemon League Champion. He is a former Gym Leader, having run the Shadycoast Gym for a brief period of time. Nero dreamed of becoming a better trainer and left his post as Gym Leader to his younger twin sisters, Lita and Loli y2jchampion.deviantart.com/art… . Despite his dark appearance, Nero is quite friendly and is not above making jokes. Originally he used only Dark Type Pokemon as per his family Gym's rules, but now he trains all sorts of Pokemon.
Despite his approachable and jovial personality he has a professional side to him and treats every challenger with respect. He was the one who forced the former Champion, Arthur y2jchampion.deviantart.com/art… into retirement. Despite this, Arthur and he became firm friends and will chat and battle on occasion.
Nero has a great deal of admiration for Alex Ketchum y2jchampion.deviantart.com/art… . Like him, he always had the ambition to become a great trainer. He also had a similar family life, having to put up with annoying younger twin sisters, but caring for them at the same time. Nero and Alex also share a similar habit of making mistakes in their battles but quickly learn from these mistakes and use what they learn from them to their full advantage.
Since leaving the Shadycoast Gym to further his dream of becoming a powerful trainer, Nero has had few losses. Nero also believes it is a Champion's duty to ensure that the Shikoku Region is safe and will travel around the region to help people and Pokemon in need.
